The MPIC’s hospital business is constantly looking for existing hospitals to acquire.
i’m doing a graduate thesis in hospital administration at UP Manila, and i’m interested in exploring distressed hospitals and equity financing. is it possible to use the hospitals acquired by metro pacific investments corp. as subjects for the study?
thanks very much
Hi fara, among the hospitals acquired by MPIC, it’s Makati Med that was previously distressed. I’m not sure if the others were distressed before acquisition. Call or go to Makati Med and ask if they have a library where you can research about their business history, or whom to contact for outsiders’ research.
Aside from the Pangilinan Group of companies that owns these six hospitals, is there any existing group of companies that owns hospitals in the Philippines? What companies are they?
