If you are pregnant or malapit ka nang manganak, pero hindi ka pa qualified to avail of Philhealth maternity benefit, kasi late ka na sa pagbayad at lagpas ka na sa payment deadline, puede ka pang maka-avail of Philhealth maternity coverage under the Women About to Give Birth Program.
Pero bago ka magbayad, punta ka muna sa lying-in clinic or hospital where you will give birth and ask if you can avail of the Women About to Give Birth program.
About to Give Birth program.
One Time Only
As of July 2023,
For monthly payments (400 pesos per month):
Ang deadline is the last day of the month.
For quartertly payments (1,200 pesos per quarter):
Ang deadline is the last day of the quarter.
Make sure na kapag Saturday, Sunday o holiday ang last day of the month, makakapunta ka pa sa open na payment center katulad ng Bayad Center or SM Business Center.
Nine Monthly Payments na ang Requirement for Philhealth eligibility
Starting October 1, nine monthly payments na ang required para maka-avail ng Philhealth maternity coverage or other Philhealth benefits.

Newborn screening benefit
Philhealth Circular No. 025 s2015, titled Social Health Insurance Coverage and Benefit for Women About to Give Birth Revision 1
Hi po, ang new born screening po ba ai pwede parin pong maavail if i choose to give birth sa lying in?
Hi Mariel, yes, pero merong mga lying-in na hindi complete ang newborn screening equipment so hindi ka maka-avail. Tanungin mo na lang yong lying-in.
Tnx in advance
Hi Anna, dahil sa maternity ang case mo, puede ka, pero under the Women About to give birth program. Pumunta ka sa hospital o clinic kung saan ka manganganak at tanungin mo kung meron bang dapat ka pang gawin kasi mag-a-avail ka ng Women about to give birth program.
Hi! I’m a new member of Philhealth and I started to pay for the 2nd quarter this year. I am also about to give birth this September. Am I eligible to avail of the maternity benefit package? Or yung women about to give birth program na ang applied sakin? Another question is, if hindi ako eligible for both of the said program, can i still use my philhealth if 6 mos na ko nkapagbayad or 2 quarters. Sorry it’s a bit confusing for me kasi, hehe, wether the maternity benefit package is different dun sa normal na covered ng Philhealth upon hospitalization or same lang sila. Thank you so much!
Hi Gel, the same lang yong benefit package. Kung September ka manganak, puede pa yong payment of 3 months within the past 6 months. Sa October 1 pa mag-start yong payment of 9 months within the past 12 months.
Prepare your premium payment receipt from March to November or Feb to October, or any payment of 9 months within the past 12 months.
Hi Jessica, this September, puede mo pang bayaran ang July Aug Sep (one quarter). Hindi na tatanggapin ang June payment. Pay Oct to April 2019 on time para magamit mo ang Philhealth in April.
Hi Winniei, mas sure kung tatanungin mo yong hospital where you will give birth para malaman mo kung gagamitin mo ang Women about to give birth program or yong new-member policy.
About to give birth program.
Hello po.. Ask lng aq dependent po aq ng husband q ofw and im preg. And about to gave birth by Jan. 2018! Kc sb dw 9/12 ndw philhealth ngaun kya worry aq ngbayad kasi asawa ko from june 2018 to june 2019! Mkakaavail po ba aq? Thank you.
Prepare your MDR (dapat nakasulat ka as dependent ng husband mo).
Hi. If magpamember ba ako ngayon then magbayad for quarterly (oct-dec) then hanggang june. Due date ko po is last week of june. Thank you.
Hi Zali, yes, tama ka. So register now and pay, asap this month, so you will qualify in June, and so you don’t need to use the Women about to give birth program.
Hi. And she recommend na sa january nalang ako magpay for 1 year. Can I still use my philhealth? Thank you.
Hi. Makakaavail kaya ako ng philhealth maternity benefits if magbayad ako ng 2400(1year) kahit ung last dec 2018 ko po ay walang hulog? Nagresign ako sa work ko last nov. 2018 then nalaman ko na pregnant ako this january so wala po akong hulog ng dec. Thankyou! Hoping for your reply.
Hi! Here’s my info:
– Philhealth member since March 2012 – March 2017 (5yrs)
– Unemployed April 2017 – Dec 2017
– Resumed work last January 2018 up until now March 2019.
– Starting from December 2018 until July 2019 I will be on bed rest na until manganak(July 2019) kasi delikado pregnancy ko.
– Still employed with the company but on LOA.
– Checked my payslip and I still got SSS and Philhealth deductions until Feb 2019.
So here’s my question.
I won’t receive any compensation from March 2019 until I resume to work. So based from the 9/12 rule by Philhealth, from the time of confinement within 12 months, I need at least 9 months contribution to be eligible for their birth program. Am I right? In my case, I already payed August 2018-Feb 2018 (6 months contribution). So do I need to pay them voluntarily, March 2019 – May 2019 (3 months contribution) to qualify the program?
Thank you for your response.
Hi Hazek, yes, you’re right, have someone pay at Philhealth office the months of March to May 2019 as Voluntary. Your representative should bring a copy of your approved leave form and your ID, and to be sure, write a letter at the back of your leave form asking Philhealth to let you pay as Voluntary from March to May 2019 as you are on leave.
Hi again.
Hi, I am due to give birth this October. I was employed 2014, nawalan aq ng work last April 2019. Meron akong contribution until March 2019. My question is, pwede q po bang bayaran yung april hangang october to be eligible to this program? Thanks in advance po..
