Gastritis is an inflammation or irritation of the stomach’s lining.

There are 3 types of Philhealth coverages:
6,000 pesos
6,100 pesos
12,800 pesos

Philhealth deduction or coverage for the following is 6,000 pesos

(1,800 for PF; 4,200 for hospital costs)
Other specified noninfective gastroenteritis and colitis;
Eosinophilic gastritis or gastroenteritis

Philhealth coverage for the following is 6,100 pesos

(1,830 for PF; 4,270 for hospital costs)
Alcoholic gastritis
Chronic superficial gastritis
Chronic atrophic gastritis; Gastric atrophy
Chronic gastritis; unspecified; Chronic antral gastritis;
Chronic fungal gastritis
Other acute gastritis
Other gastritis; Giant hypertrophic gastritis;
Granulomatous gastritis; Menetrier’s disease
Gastritis, unspecified

Philhealth deduction for the following is 12,800 pesos

(3,840 for PF; 8,960 for hospital costs)
Acute haemorrhagic gastritic; Acute erosive
gastritis with haemorrhage

Common Symptoms of Gastritis:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Upset stomach
  • Burning feeling in the stomach
  • Abdominal bloating
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Indigestion
  • Black stools

Possible Causes of Gastritis: 

  • Use of aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Excessive drinking of alcohol
  • Infections by bacteria and viruses
  • Stress
  • Chronic vomiting
  • Backflow of bile into the stomach
