  1. Hi, I am actually looking for Dialysis Centers in which their monthly consumption for Heparin is very high, as our company is offering a near expiry of our Heparin. Our high quality Heparin is our Zynohep 1000iu per ml, 5ml vial manufactured by Gland Pharma and we are only offering for Php 40.00/vial and will be expiring on September 2013. As of today, we still have a 9000 inventory and orders will be in a first come first serve basis for COD transaction.

For interested buyers, please call 0917-5155310 or 0947-9962452 and look for Jo-Anne

  2. Looking for information regarding Dialysis in Quezon city.I am British and like visiting Philippines but since may am now having Dialysis 3 times a week. What I want to Know is can I get treatment in Quezon city and how much would it cost.

    • Hi John, the dialysis centers listed under Quezon City (above list) also provide dialysis even to non-Philhealth members. Sorry I don’t know their fees but the Philhealth coverage for dialysis is 4k per session up to 45 sessions a year. So there could be dialysis centers offering about 5k to 6k per session, and of course, the others would be costlier. If you have ACR, you can register with Philhealth, but you can start using Philhealth for dialysis only after 9 months.

  3. How often are inspections conducted in these dialysis centers. My sister is having her dialysis twice a week done by Peoples Center for Hemodialysis Care located in South Fairview. Her whole body blew up obviously retaining excessive amount of fluids. My family brought her to the E.R. because she’s having a hard time breathing. The Dr. Said she could have had a cardiac overload, which could be fatal, because of that excess fluids. She had just one dialysis session so far in the hospital and she shrunk significantly already.
I’m concerned about the functionality of the dialysis machines of this particular dialysis center. Several other patients could be harmed by this center. Philhealth funds are also going to waste paying for these nonfunctional machines.
I urge PHILHEALTH to do an investigation or at least do an inspection on PEOPLE’S CENTER FOR HEMODIALYS CARE, INC. My family will be filing legal complaints to the appropriate agencies against this institution.

    • Hi Jerry, it’s great that you’ll be filing complaints against the dialysis center; certainly, it will help prospective patients. Philhealth needs to review its accreditation of dialysis centers; and complaints will certainly help Philhealth in its decision making processes. Thanks for writing about this online, so others may be warned.

    • Hi oji, first, you need to get a license from the Philippine Department of Health to operate a dialysis center. To get Philhealth accreditation, you need to have been operating for at least 3 years as a DOH-licensed free standing dialysis center; if not, your managing medical director should have managed a dialysis department or facility for at least 3 years, and you should operate in an area where there’s no other dialysis center. I know an electronics engineer with a medical equipment business. Please comment again if you want to pursue your plan, so I can connect him to you. Here’s the DOH application form: http://www.doh.gov.ph/system/files/application_dialysisclinic.pdf

  8. Hi sorry to intrude in your post. Im also very interested in investing on a dialysis center, i know how much in dire need our country has for such a facility, any chance i can get a figure how much such a startup would cost. I plan to set it up in caloocan or anywhere where there is a need for this facility. Thanks and regards

    • Hi Kingsley, it’s true that the no. of people needing frequent dialysis has been increasing fast. But the capital needed is significant, and of course there’s always risk, as I know yo know, so make your thorough textual and physical research and planning. I searched for the prices of the dialysis machine and the cheapest second-hand I found online in the Phils is 160k, average second-hand price is 300k, and the most expensive is almost a million. You also need to prepare for the cost of the place, the nephrologist, doctor and dialysis nurses and other personnel, other equipment and supplies, and business registration and licensing. Look at the licensing requirements of the DOH, so you can prepare: http://www.doh.gov.ph/system/files/requirements_dialysisclinic.pdf Wish you the best in your business planning.

  9. HI,
I live in US but would like to visit the pHilippines but the problem is I am on hemodialysis ND GOING TO CHANGE TO PERITONEAL DIALYSIS. How is treatment in the Philppines. How much do they charge per sitting. My schedule is three times a week.D o they accept medicarea as the insurance. Did anybody yet started trying to claim to Medicare and supplementary insurance. How thorough and promising is the dialysis in the Philppines?

    Reply
    • Hi connnie, US Medicare cannot yet be used in the Phils, unless you’re from Guam or Saipan — residents in these 2 jurisdictions are allowed to reimburse their medical care costs in the Phils with US Medicare. Hospitals like St. Luke’s accept some US health insurance like Blue Cross. For others, reimbursement might be allowed. The cost of hemodialysis here ranges from 6k to 10k pesos or more per session. If you’re Filipino or if you have an ACR, you can register with Philhealth and pay premiums so you can get coverage. Go to philhealth.gov.ph or ask/authorize someone here to register/pay premiums for you.

    • Hi elsie, you can use Philhealth’s 4,000-peso coverage per session. You have an allowance of 45 hemodialysis sessions per calendar year. Find an accredited dialysis center and ask for their packages and ask how much is your cash-out. You can ask your family in the Phils to ask around. A session might cost from 4k to 10k or higher, depending on the facility.
